Great question, and if it holds true that he knowingly went to his death because it was the fathers will then that makes God guilty of murdering his own son. Which in turn flies in the face of everything God is said to be. And exactly why would an all loving God need a sacrifice that was his own child much less anyone else?

Hi Suresh,
You wrote: Jesus died wilfully on the cross to to fulfill prophesy right! So why is suicide or euthanasia a sin?
Jesus Christ hasn't committed suicide. He was murdered. Jesus died willfully for you and me. He died so that you, me and all the people can live eternal lives. Jesus Christ is called : The Lamb of God.
Jesus Christ defeated Death and Rose Again on the 3rd Day. He is Alive.
I think No one(christian) stops anyone from commiting suicide. But, it's not right.

You have absolutely no evidence that Jesus died willfully on the cross to fulfill prophesy. That has nothing to do with suicide or euthanasia. The concept of sin is flawed. Having a good attitude towards life is what is important. Sometimes euthanasia (of animals) is necessary, but we should try to avoid it by spaying and neutering our pets.

show me in scripture where it says suicide or uthenasia are sinful behaviors and then I will read it and get back to you on why. The commandment that is going to be quoted to you actually reads, do not swiftly kill the innocent. People just want to make that say what they believe. You see it now properly translated what do you think it means.
Jesus did not want to die. He had to be told that He must and He respectfully requested the job be done some other way. We christians do not need you to twist scripture we are perfectly capable of doing that ourselves which should be abundantly clear if you read very many answers.

Christ didn't want to die,he submitted to his Fathers will.
Jesus was murdered on false charges by his own race.
In order for mankind to be freed from enslavement to sin and death caused by Adam's disobedience,Jesus allowed himself to become a perfect man (just as Adam was a perfect man) so that he could offer up that perfect humans life as a ransom sacrifice.
So today those of us who exercise faith in that ransom, have the opportunity to have our sins forgiven and also the wonderful opportunity of everlasting life.

oooooh thats a good one. actually these are answers i usually hear -- so i am sharing it with u. Chirstians say that Jesus willingly dies for their sins so that he could free others from their original sin. and it was Jesus who willingly offered himself. but there are other Christians who say that Jesus death waa a part of God's plan and he was sent as a sacrifise. whatever it may be they killed the man they loved most. now its upto u to choose.

Jesus didn't kill himself. He was killed. The fact that He didn't resist does not constitute suicide. Many of the great saints and martyrs likewise willingly surrendered their lives rather than renounce their faith.
Also, Jesus did not want to die. He asked His heavenly Father to spare Him from that fate if possible, and he sweated blood over the prospect of what was going to happen to him.

Just because Jesus died for our sins doesn't mean he committed suicide. He was put to death, murdered. Suicide is when you take your own life. -
In most cases suicide happens when someone is distraught over things they think they can't deal with or can not change. Do you really believe Jesus taught us to run from our problems by committing suicide? Jesus sought to redeem us- and it was not by an example of suicide. -- If you read the Bible you would see that he even ask us to throw our burdens and problems on him. He tried to preserve our lives not teach us to take them.

First, let us not term Jesus and euthanasia together though the Pope is all set to oppose euthanasia, abortion and population control etc.
Who on the earth is right to terminate another being's life which is so precious? So long as life remains on the earth, there will be pain. I may request you from the deepest part of my heart to help me end up my life. It is my pain that makes me request, but it should be your wisdom to comfort me rather than granting my request.

Suicide is killing yourself. It is not suicide to willingly offer your life for a higher purpose. Soldiers go into battle and risk their lives willing but that is not suicide. A person who went back into the Twin Towers to try and save others and ended up dying was offering their life but it is not suicide.
Life is not an absolute value and so may be sacrificed for a higher value.
