I think this is a beautiful question, you have stated it with considerable maturity of one who himself understands that there are different levels of relationships with God, and threw that you are asking how this happens. This is how it happens, you have seen and you do feel the difference, you are understanding and that is what is involved.
We all are on the same path, but certainly not at the same level of acceptance and understanding. Understanding is the doorway to wisdom.

I can only guess but I think it is because the deeper you become in the knowledge of God the more you realize how insignificant you are in the big picture (selfless) and you realize there is so much to do to increase the kingdom of God. You also become sorrowful because you absolutely know what you believe and you are saddened that others will not find God's peace. Let me say this too, you can't explain everything with words, much of what you see is from the spirit and is on a much deeper level than language. Finally, they reject the world and realize laughing and acting childish will get you no where. God's work although joyful is also sorrowful, painful and hard. There is a difference between internal joy and acting like a fool. Ask God to explain what you have observed.

There are people that just go to church to hear the Word of God, and say that they have been to church. There are others that do study the Bible, and want to have a more personnel relationship with Jesus. I was saved when I was 11, and went to church, but until I really settled down and have studied the Bible for the last 10 years. I have learned so much more about how awesome God is, and How much Jesus loves me. Most people just read the Bible to say they have read it, but never took the time to study God's Word. I am now 44. I have become more close to Him because of Bible studies. Most people won't even do that. They don't have the time for God. They give Him one hour on Sunday, and call their selves a Christian. A true Christian wants to know God more and really enjoy going to church Sunday morning, Sunday night, and Wed.

some people seem to think that God gives us so many rules that if you are truly focused on folowing them, then you must not have fun. The truth is God has humor, he wants us to be happy. I know that every time period in my life that i was totally focused on him, i was the happiest...but then the things of this world get my attention, i lose that focus and become depressed.
You're right, it's NOT a business relationship but instead it's a
a very deep, personal one.

The personal part has something to do with the fact that they have a close personal relationship with God. The others know the Bible and are possibly the more religious ones. Remember, religion is just the mechanics, your relationship with God is what Christianity is all about.

I will try to answer you ,hopefully I can ..it is this..the people who seem to "walk on air with their knowledge" they know God.. They are Born of the Spirit of God..God promised in Ezekiel 36:26.".I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh." The people who "have business approach" have their own agenda and want God to bless their efforts and are are basically going though the motions.

The first mentioned is a complete and utter personal relationship with God
The Second may have a personal relationship with God, buts departmentalizes emotion because they tend to be legalistic when it comes to Scripture

I think it involves personal relationship. If you have a sincere visit often cause you love a dear trusted family member, you get to know them intimately.
some family you see once a year at the family reunion, and you talk about the weather and your jobs, but not to much love and knowledge gets passed back and forth.
