I have a big crush on a guy I met from his place of buisness. I go to the shop he works in quite frequently. It is just him and the lady who owns it there and they are very close. I have her buisness card and it has an email address on it. I want to know how to word an email to her asking if he is single. I don't want to weird her out and I wish to keep my identity hidden in fear that I will not be able to go back in the shop because of embarrsment and akwardness. How do I word this email? Serious answers only please. Thanks!

I insist on emailing and not a direct approach.

This is 2006...not 1906...just go and approach him and ask him out for coffee.

Put your big girl panties on and don't be embarrassed...if he says no - chalk it up to experience. If he says yes...Waaaala you've succeed and took the initiative.

Good Luck...now go and do it.

"Yo, gal... what is the name of your boyfriend who is always with you at your office? I need to send you both a Christmas card. Let us do lunch one day. Have a nice day."

(pretend to spilt out that he is her boyfriend-chances are she will deny if she is not and volunteer more info about whether he is married, attached or gay. Also good to indicate a prelude to meeting up with her for lunch to dig more info from her).
