One of my coworkers has black hair with blonde highlight and it doesn't look very nice. It's such a huge contrast. I think a deep red or a caramel would like nice.

I agree. Getting the blonde highlights would be best. Yeah, there is such thing as highlighting almost your whole hair. I think you should go for it, for sure.

I would suggest that for your first time experimenting with something like this, you should save your money and have a professional do it. Then you can see what they do and replicate the process at home. Don't do really light highlights...they look so cheap and fake.....browns and dark ash blondes might work. Whatever you do, remember, your hair grows back.

I think black hair looks fine by itself or with highlights. If you want highlights, I would say red or a light blonde. If you do decide to get blonde one, only do one on each side of your head near your face, kind of like Rogue on X-Men.

purple, blue, or pink all bypass extremely properly with black... do no longer streak it regardless of the undeniable fact that, think of skinny organic sized highlights. purple makes black hair seem a sprint earthier, on an analogous time as blue brightens it, making it pop... and pink... properly that is a mixture of the two, giving the two effects. in case you elect for pink regardless of the undeniable fact that, some human beings like having blue and purple (blue as a spotlight, purple as a lowlight) put in as separate colorations so curiously pink as damaging to pink itself. that is all as much as you. Ask your stylist what their suggestions could be besides. have exciting.

Well if you have black hair i would advise you to go to a salon because you can really mess it up with the do it yourself. Black has a lot of red pigment and and if you do not go threw the right process you will end up with orange hair. I would suggest maybe pulling it threw a frosting hat. If they still use them.

I think auburn highlights are gorgeous in black hair. I agree about getting it done professional too...black hair can throw some terrible shades!

Blonde is ok as long as you break it up with some brown, try blonde red and brown highlights, they look great. you can highlight your whole head but it gets expensive.

my friend just recently highlighted her black hair...she did it purple. it looks so good! its still black.. but there is a perfect tint of purple. and where the black hair is not so dark.. the purple shows a lot. i think you should do this too. it looks awesome...
good luck with whatever color you choose! :]
