Sometimes a simple coil of copper wire wrapped around your head will block the signals. It is less conspicuous than the aluminum foil, especially if you have long hair.
A major caveat here: Copper wire is not at all effective in areas where the force fields are strong, in particular when you run into attracting/repelling force fields west of the Rockies or close to sea level.

I don't think the hats will help. You have to knit the foil for it to carry the signals away properly, and I haven't seen anyone do that lately.

Aluminum foil will NOT help. What you need to do is wear an antenna on your head and this will divert the signal from you.

No. You have to put the foil all around your head, just leaving holes for your eyes, nose and mouth. Try it, looks cool too. You can then use a sharpie to decorate your new look.
