I don't think you should ever try and meet someone that you met on line. It can be very dangerous. The person can type anything but really be a different person, but if you absolutely have to I think it should be 6 months or more. During the time try to find out as much as possible about this person before the meet and make sure its in public.

I chatted for about a week before I met my boyfriend in person. Things are working out great now but that won't always be the case. If you're going to meet someone from the internet, make sure you feel 100% comfortable. Also, most importantly, meet them somewhere. Having them pick you up or you pick them up on the first date is just risky. At least if you meet them somewhere you have the freedom to leave if anything goes wrong. Be careful!

This will vary depending on your comfort level. I actually met my husband online. We spent about 3 weeks chatting online before moving on to phone calls for about two more weeks and then meeting in a public place. I was very cautious because you never really know who you are talking to online, no matter how cautious you are. We each drove to opur first meeting for a dinner date because I felt safer with a "getaway" and didn't want him to know exactly where I lived until I felt really safe with him. Whatever you decide to do, take precautions. Good luck.

Waisting time. As sooner as possible you should see the person to find out if you can like and want know more about the person.
Or just stay on the line forever just to chat and have fun.

Well. I don't think there is a time limit or what. Just make sure you take precautious when meeting that person. Coz u may not know what he/she will do. And be sure to feel comfortable before meeting one...

That would depend on your age first.
Find out all you can about the person first, try to verify what you're reading.
The person on the other sode of your computer might not be what or who you think it is at all.
Some people like to use this fascinating technology to prey on others and get whatever they can from you.

Six years?

Unless, you run an FBI background check!, and a local Sheriff search on the Sexual Predator web site, (I am a subscriber to both).

Well, Neal Boortz and I agree on the 'Rules to Date MY Daughter"!!! Just get his name, any aliases, a list of his "priors", and a list of any known felon acquaintances, parents, siblings...

Don't mind that camoflaged face in the window, it is just me, a tiny bit of my old warpaint tactics and uniform items and weapons, from my days in the jungle wars, in South East Asia...

I'm going through that same thing right now.

But I don't think there is a specific time frame to go by.

And I would suggest talking on the phone several times first.
