its not easy, i went through the same thing. even was flying her in and also for the holidays. we talked about her moving in with me and getting together. i would get text messages everyday and several e-mails. then all of a sudeen three days ago after she was to e-mail me at night i haven't heard from her. you can show all the love and care you want. then for no reason after everything is fine. they disappear.

My beau and I lived in different countries for a year. I sent him packages of notes "to be opened" when he was lonely or tired or drunk, etc. I also sent him pictures of me while I was traveling (I was in Australia and he was in Croatia). He sent me notes about what he was experiencing and books he was reading. He called me on special occasions (a very weird call when midnight hit New Years in Croatia) and I sent him cards and home made music compilations.
The important thing is that you each do little things that mean something. These things need to happen on top of the day to day contact via phone or email. They should be special little unexpected things that show each of you that you are in the others thoughts.
Good luck. There is no denying it sucks but if it is meant to be, there is no better test.

My (now) fiance and I lived in separate states for about 4 months before I moved up to Cali to be with him.
I used to send him cards (the Hallmark Between You & ME cards were absolutely awesome) sprayed with my perfume. Also, I made him CD's with songs that I liked..and he played them all the time. I used to IM him randomly when he was offline, so when he logged on, he'd instantly smile and see that I was thinking of him. I'd text message his phone little "I Love You" messages.
Two years later....we are engaged to be married in 2007.

honesty, truthful, faithful, keeping in touch as much as possible with letters, emails, messenger, phone. Knowing you both are in love and trust each other than thats all you need. Show them by telling them speek from your heart, and try to get together as much as possible. Tell them how much you want a future with them.

talk on the phone, IM, email, see each other occasionally, as often as possible. if you don't keep this up, a relationship might not work.
