"They" were in a hot-air balloon. When the circular circumference of the balloon crossed an electric power line, the balloon crashed and all the passengers died.

uh letme guess...... the circle was a circle and the line was a line and theyre 2d.
the circle crossed the line and became 2 semi circles so they was no line and no circle, so they 'died'
