My dog went into heat about a month ago. she was done bleading about three weeks ago. I just got home and she is bleeding again. I am worried that something is wrong. I have made an appointment for her at the vet's on thursday. I was just wondering if any else has had this happen with a female dog. She also has been very lathargic the past two days, she isn't pregnant she never had the oppertunity

If it weren't for the lethargy, I'd say it could be normal. My dog was in her first heat for 10 weeks. But since she is lethargic, I would have her checked by the vet for pyometra, a common uterine infection that is easily diagnosed with a swab culture and treated by spaying.
Pyometra will have a bad prognosis if not treated.
Symptoms: loss of energy, increased thirst, poor appetite. Foul-smelling purulent (pus) vaginal discharge. If the uterus is engorged with infection it can rupture and cause endotoxic shock.
Definitely worth checking out. Good luck

I would inquire with the vet, if possible, to see the price different in getting her fixed now or waiting until her heat cycle is complete.

I know where I live, it was like $60 during a normal time to get her fixed, and I think like $200 during the cycle. I guess it more difficult for the vet or something.

We keep all three femle dachshunds in the house, so no problem waiting a little while before doing the procedure. Just keep the carpets shampooed where a spot of blood might be.

You want to get to the Vet asap. And also get her spayed. A common problem with unspayed females is pyometra, and can be onset by a heat cycle or a pregnancy. It is an infection of the uterus. And since she's very lethargic, you can almost bet something is just not right, whether it be this or something small. Get her to the vet for a positive diagnosis.

he will do some thing to get at her, and it is going to in elementary words worsen. i'd take him to a boarding kennel till she is easily performed with her cycle (no longer in simple terms the bleeding, yet for some days after). or maybe a friends homestead. If that could no longer accessible, then possibly set up a kennel for him outdoors. Like a sequence link fence with a suitable on it, and a canines container. it would not wonder me if he eats through doors or maybe dry wall to get at her. as long as he can scent her the in elementary words challenge on his options will be getting to her. regularly male canines can develop into aggressive even as round a lady in warmth, so be careful of him as well. it could be an exceedingly good time to get him fastened, then in simple terms pay a touch extra to have the vet board him and extra 7 to 10 days. That way he's a lot from the homestead, and it receives treated at the same time, and the vets will be round to be particular he heals up good. in simple terms ensure that you do keep them separate for this complete cycle, even after he's neutered.

If it was the first time she went into heat it can stop and come back or just go for a long time. There could be an underlying problem too. Good Luck!

If this is her first time in heat, I wouldn't worry too much. You're a good owner for taking her to the vet, though!

I would spay her to be safe. Then you wouldn't have to worry about her going into heat. Plus its supposedly better healthwise for the dog.

Please spay your dog. There are not enough homes for all the puppies out there. It will make her stay home more too, as well as keep male dogs away from your home.
