Just curious, who can actually say that they are tolerant of other religions or lack of (atheism is in this question considered a religious choice ). Before shooting down anothers spirituality have you spent the time to really learn what the others belief really is and what it entails? Or do you hate and fear things out of uneducated ignorance? I am pagan and my spiritual symbol is the Pentacle when commenting on or answearing this question pls include what you believe the five points of the pent means.

Only from education and understanding can we critique honestly. Ignorance only breeds more ignorance and hysteria.

Blessed Be......

Wow alot of uneducated ignorance here. I was not asking people to tell me if I was right or wrong so don't give me the Christian blanket statement that somehow people fail unless they accept god.
Now the question is are you able to tolerate other faiths without attacking it?

I was never quite sure if I fit in as a Christian because, I am one of those that is tolerant of other religions. I fell that pagans and Atheist all have a place. That is why I left Christianity. I am not sure where I fit in still. But I am not where I am not meant to be. I think spirituality is a totally different than religiosity. I am ashamed of what many are doing in a sick twisted interpretation of their religion. I am on a spiritual journey and respect those who chose their beliefs based on searching and self discovery. I accept most religions except Satanism and Islam. I think they are both bad. I am actually afraid of Muslims more that Satanists. They both want world domination by the use of lies, deceit and fear.

Well,,, I had to look it up and the answer sounds right:

The 5 points of a Pentagram stand for the 5 wounds of Jesus or the 5 elemental elements
* ύδωρ, Hydor, water
* Γαια, Gaia earth
* ίδέα, Idea or ίερόν, Hieron "a divine thing"
* έιλή, Heile, heat (fire)
* άήρ, Aer, air

Lots of fear going on. Lots of volenteers for the great war in Heaven .. aparently on both sides .. eventhough there is also good evidence there is NOT going to be a great war in heaven.

Personally I am pretty cool with most alternatives .. except I really don't want someone sumoning demons and trying to lay waste to the earth or its peoples. That is why I get the crawlies about the Satinists .. random acts of evil . or deliberate ones too.

I have not made the jump to unitarian or sufi, but my heart is there. When some insist that I consider the religion of my forefarthers I say ""what a druid? "

you may want to look into a Triquetra -- I think that they are cool

Blessed Be.

Tolerance is an exceedingly humorous be unsleeping. I consistently spoke of it as some component I had to placed as a lot as, truly of settle for. very resembling an unruly toddler, i will tolerate him, for the sake of his moms and dads. Hoping that for the era of the destiny he will boost in Gods purpose. Tolerance has choose linked to it, the position attractiveness desires no tolerance. I fairly have got here across that my faith makes use of tolerance at the same time as it deals with diverse theory platforms. inspite of if, i imagine that attractiveness of anothers beliefs, be theyt depending upon an same values, desires no tolerance, yet truly complete attractiveness. So depending upon that , the only time tolerance is needed, is at the same time as the values or recommendations of yet another, cant adventure the values to create the mandatory attractiveness.

)O( Drawing down the moon. The five points of the pentagram and pentacle represent AKASBA, or Spirit,and the four ELEMENTS. (Water, Fire, Earth, and Air ) Some witches also view the five points as representing the three aspects of the Goddess-----Maiden, mother, and crone -------- and two aspects of the God--- dark and light. The only animosity I have towards Christianity, or other religion or philosophy of life, is that it's institutions have claimed to be " The only true, right and only way" and have sought to deny freedom to others and suppress other ways of religious practices and beliefs. SO MOTE IT BE------

I think the points represent the human body, and also stands for truth. I'm not a pagan but I know a few, and I respect them and what they believe very much as they respect my beliefs. I follow the Red Path, and I'm pretty sure that there aren't to many here that could tell you what that is either.

Most religions--even Christianity when practiced correctly--are universal in nature. They are all paths that point to the same end. One just needs to find that path that suits them and makes deity more accessible.

The pentacle's 5 points stand for the 5 elements: Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Spirit. It is also an Earth symbol used for protection. Furthermore, when it is upside down, it is not "Satanic" as is incorrectly assumed. The upside-down pentacle is the dark moon pentacle used for banishing rites.

-A Pagan.

what I think it means is the symbol of man five points like a human has. head two arms two legs.Microcosm of the human body and mind . the five wounds of Christ, Harmony, health and mystic powers. the symbol might be Solomons seal it goes back to Mesopotamia. it symbolizes the planet Venus. ON and on and on.
Are You going to say the pagans invented it, and that what you think is the meaning, is the only meaning, of a symbol that is far older than the druids, If you are then you are very intolerant of other cultures.And you would be wrong.
Screw tolerance I cant tolerate tolerance Acceptance is the only answer.

well i consider myself tolerant since most of my friends are of different religions than me and so far it never posed as a problem. there was this one girl though that rubbed us all the wrong way. i think she's a christian extreamist as she used to hate all non-christians and secretly try to sabotage us somehow and try to convert people as well as rally christians against people of other religions. Actually her father is a priest and she has no TV and is not allowed to read the news and has no computer so we kinda understood why she was so fanatical - ignorance!
other than that... i think i'm tolerant as long as the other people are respectful of my religion.

your pentacle points? hmm.. earth, air, fire, water, and spirit ^.^

I absolutely agree. I wouldn't say that I am tolerant exactly because that implies that I am not wholly devoted to Christianity. I would say that I am making every effort to understand other faiths and in that see much correlation to Christian beliefs. I find great common ground and not the gaping chasm that is often portrayed by misunderstanding and hatred.

of course i am tolerant, but i am also studying other religions to try to understand why and what they believe. im not sure what the 5 points of the pentacle mean, it just looks like an upside down star of david. as to say you would rather do things contrary to God
