There are some made in Germany, yes. There are others made in the USA (Maytag), the UK (Stilton), France (Roquefort), or Italy (Gorgonzola).

As I was considering your question and oddly enough when I think of german food I think of swiss cheese. Which apparently isn't German, Though it sure is good on a Rueben.


Rueben is my Greatgrandfathers firt name as well as the delicios deli meat, so I'm never sure when it should be capitalized, so to play it safe I always do. ;)

Blue cheese are made primarily in Europe and America these days but it originated in Italy [Gorgonzola] around 879 AD. Rocquefort was said to have been invented in 1070 AD.
