To God be the glory indeed!!!! He is awesome, I also have been delivered from my addiction too, he didn't demand that I gave up smoking etc but helped me when First I saw I couldn't do it in my own strength and when I asked him for the help, I fasted and prayed for the cigarette habit to be broken (that is what a true fast is for, for tearing down strongholds) and he delivered me in such an awesome way I give him all the glory for opening my eyes and helping me to see the truth, I used to just "believe" in him, but the devil "believes" too ...Knowing him and being called his child is so awesome!!! I would love to read more of your testimony...Thanks for sharing. peace PS Jersey Rick why not read "The Case For Christ" by Lee Strobel, he was an atheist who set out to disprove the bible but only found a reason to believe..then ask Jesus to make himself known to you, I guarantee that he will if you seek him with your whole heart.

For me the existence of God is not a belief. I KNOW He does. I KNOW Jesus is His Son. He has saved me so many times. I just don't always know why. I just don't always know what He wants me to do in life. God seems to tell me things that are differant from what the church tells me. God tells me through His word that I should trust in Him for EVERYTHING, home, food, money, and that my days should be about serving in prayer and deed. The church tells me that I should be doing all that for my self, and that God will be with me. The church tells me I should pray for what God wants me to do, and God tells me, in prayer and His word that I should wait and trust in God and that He will take care of everything, and now that I am His, His plans will come together. Like this, in Job, Job keeps thinking that God is punishing him for something he can figure out. and at the end God comes to Job and tells him that he does not understand God and what God does, and that he should watch what he says about God. And Job then says"I know that you can do all things; no plan of yours can be thwarted. You ask "who is this that obscures my counsel without knowledge?' Surely I spoke of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know. You said 'Listen now, and I will speak; I will question you, and you shall answer me.' My ears had heard you but now my eyes have seen you. Therefore I despise myself and repent in dust and ashes."(Job 42:1-6) To me God is saying that no matter what, what He plans noone (not even my self) can mess up His plans for the world and His faithful's life. That my life is in His hands and that no matter how things seem, He will not steer me wrong, that i should look to the blood of Christ and the promises He gives us. Am I reading to much in to that, or is that what He is saying to His Faithful? Sorry, I could write all night about this.

He is very real. Everywhere I look I see his grand creations. He even knows the number of stars and their names. Who could come close to that? When you pray to him the prayer travels billions of times faster than the speed of light-just think, He is everywhere so if he is at the end of the universe it would take light billions of years to reach Him, yet a simple prayer reaches Him in an instant.I know, because he answers my prayers right on time....KECK

I have had to many things happen in my life that could NOT just be a conscience. I KNOW God has had part in my life and loves me and cares for me and blesses me. And I know now that I do have a certain specific purpose in life. (I used to just think I had no special purpose or reasoning for anything in my life). God is a special part of my life. I could not exist or survive without his special and gentle touch in my life.

No, you finally got a clue and found the inner strength to say, "I can no longer live like this." You presumably attended counseling or therapy for your addictions. You presumably presented yourself to medical doctors who treated your breast cancer with drugs that required evolutionary theory to be developed or surgical proceedures that had their basis in the doctor's training on animal subjects or cadavers.
How sad it is to see that you've overcome all this entirely on your own and yet you accept only the responsibility for your failings, but give all the glory for your successes to God. That's such a miserable life, you can do nothing good, because good is God, only bad, because you are bad.
Take the responsibility for both.

Alleluia! I rejoice with you sister. I have seen similar transformations in my life but yours is a more dramatic testimony. I pray that you are in a place where you can grow in your knowledge of Him and be supported by God's people.
