As far as cheap cab goes, try Barefoot. Considering that is often less than $8 it is surprisingly good and has won some awards. Honestly, I hate zin, so I have no idea on that, although Barefoot do make a zin and a white zin.

My wife loves cabernet and she raves about Columbia Crest Grand Estates Cab. Usually under $15 per bottle.

Well...I haven't tried this one yet, because my liquor store is always sold out...but I hear that Earth Zin and Fire is the best Zinfandel out there. It is just under $15, and I am telling you every time they get a shipment in, our stores here in Texas sell out very quickly.

try smoking loon; its reasonably priced and is a very nice tasting wine. i get compliments whenever i serve it at dinner parties.
