Be straight foward... That is better than him trying to read your mind, or you putting him off. Be a lady and just tell him nicely...
And PLEASE, PLEASE don't go down the road " I Like You As A Friend"

WOW!Good question.Dating rules does not apply, because the guy hasn't gotten that far. so as a man i personally believe that women choose men, as oppose to men choosing a woman. so as the lead actress, in this play, i would suggest , sitting with this guy(not on a date), and explaining that you are not interested in having a relationship with him. Nothing brutal, like trying to purposely hurt his feelings,But, by all means in a nice manner. sometimes people will accept any kind of attention, be it negative or positive, as a go ahead sign. but i believe that a talk might help, if not try avoiding any contact that might give him the idea that you are interested. as stated some people take negative attention as affection.

Kick him in the balls.
Ignore him or just say "NO" even when he is not asking a question. For example He says Hay Kate, and you say NO. But that is for the boys that you do not want to be friends with either.
Just tell a guy your not interested or talk about other guys you like. Anything that lets him know your not on the same line as he is.

Be extremely honest and straightforward. Think about what makes you hesitant to be intimate with him, and use those reasons when turning him down, but do so very politely. Always give him some sort of cushion for when he falls - cut him away quickly so he doesn't get too attached. The faster you push him away, the quicker he'll get over you.

There are lots of ways , The best way is all ways be busy doing something else . Do not make any time for him , if he calls tell him your sick aunt is on the other line and you do not have time for him right now . Think of ways to tell him YOUR BUSY , and never tell him you will call him later !

I was actually in this situation last year. A friend of mine had developed a crush on me, and when I found out, I told him, "I really like you as a friend, but as a couple, I just don't see it happening." He said he could respect that, we shook hands, and it was all over.
It's best to just say what you mean. No one likes being lied to or lead on.

Straight up telling them. Unfortunately it is the only way to thoroughly get the point across. Otherwise they may have the idea that you are playing games with them.
Good luck!

Tell him straightforward. I've been in your shoes and trust me, some guys are very slow to take rejection, so the best way would be to be very very very clear that you're NOT interested...

I think it's best to just be honest about it. It might hurt his feelings a little bit at first, but it would probably be worse if you led him on for awhile without telling him how you feel.

Be direct. Guys can be dense. But be kind. Simply say, you know John (or whatever his name is) I don't feel that kind of a connection with you and I just don't want to mislead you.

Give him straight answer. Tell him you're not interested. If he keep persisting, ignore him. That's the best.
