There are many, many breeds of cats: Himalayan, Siamese, Burman, English Short Hair/Long Hair, American Short Hair/Long Hair, etc. I work in a veterinary office and if the breed is unknown, we refer to it as either domestic short hair, domestic long hair, and occasionally we get a domestic medium hair.

Calico and tabby are not breeds of cat, they are color patterns. Calico colored cats are black, tan, white, and yellow. Tabbies are striped and can be any color.

If you still have questions I recommend finding a book on cat breeds. It should have descriptions and pictures of all the breeds of cats and what their color patterns can be.

There are no specific breeds of house cats. Whether a cat remains indoor or outdoor is up to the owner. However, if there is ever a question if a cat is tame or wild and you see them outside, do not approach them. Wild cats may look cute or cuddly, but some of them can be very aggressive.

There are many breeds of cats: Himalayan, Persian, Burmese, Siamese, Manx, Ragdoll, Bombay, Scottish folded ear (something like that!), tiger, tabby, calico, tortoiseshell and plenty more. To find out about their characteristics, you research. It's not tough. My niece started writing a book about cats in 3rd grade, but it got ridiculously long, and she finally gave it up.

All cats can be house cats, if you have them from kittens. The dangers outside are disease, DOGS, other cats that will fight with them and cost you Vet bills. I think people feel sorry for cats that are kept in the house. BUT THEY LIVE MUCH LONGER. THINK ABOUT IT!
