There are religious leaders hungry for converts. You approach them, they will give you not only theological (but their choice) writings, but other amenities too! All free of cost.

Depends on what sorts of books you need....the library certainly...how about at a church or religious organization? For instance, if you wanted the writings of Saint Francis of Assisi -- you could check to see if there's a Franciscan Diocese in your area that might have texts for distribution. Also, what about people who have graduated/are graduating from your college? Perhaps they have extra books that they don't mind giving away?
