Leviticus 11:9-12 proclaims that the eating of shrimp is an abomination before God. Leviticus 18:22 declares the homosexual lifestyle to be an abomination before God.

Christians protest Gay Marriage. Do they also protest Red Lobster, or Long John Silvers?

Why or why not?

it has to do with the amount of impact. They are both called an abomination, but one has a possible threat of all of society and the other does not. The gay lifestyle has a unique feature - when two men or two women are together - they don't make babies. That's one big thing - where we re-populate our species, and there is an economic impact, and there's also this thing where because of homosexuality Sodom and Gommorah were completely destroyed. There's never been a time where large numbers of people were destroyed from eating shrimp. There are times Christians ban things for political reasons, but I think in this case it is more than that. It is more because homosexual activists and activist judges were pushing gay marriage first int he courts and the reason that Christian leaders are calling for a ban is because they saw that a constitutional amendment was the only way to define legally what marriage was and go above the courts, or the courts would say who could be married or whatever. It is the next logical step and it isn't for nothing really. The economic impact is also large, if you say that gays are married then they can claim marriage on their taxes their partners can be insured and all that, it would be a monumental cost to our society financially. I think the guidelines are there in the Bible for how to rule society, and it is clear. Now, I am not a gay basher, and I am not opposed to homosexuals personally, But I'm not going to say that the lifestyle is ok. There are many lifestyles that are not ok. I'm not going to say those are ok either.. What's next - pedophiles? A few years back it was absolutely unspeakable to admit you were gay and now you can't even turn on the tv without seeing a show with a gay couple in it. You'd think 25% of our culture was gay by watching tv. it's not that high - I don't wish to be insensitive at all. One sin is enough, and nobody is really that much better than anybody else. Sometimes people get a little off in their thinking. But Homosexuality is a sin. It isn't genetic. Every single gay person I've met in my life has been sexuallly abused. Doesn't that tell anybody anything? So why aren't the Christian leaders concerned about sexual abuse? Why draw the line in the sand now? I know many gay people personally - so I find the gay ban a little awkward. I believe society should have limits, and I think it is a sin, but I think the Christian leadership could show a lot more love and compassion than they have shown and Christians in general. They are repulsed themselves so they think they can just judge them.. But they don't realize that it is only God's grace that they aren't gay - and they don't know how they would be if they lived in their shoes. I wish Christians were kinder to homosexuals, and I wish homosexuals would realize that not every Christian is as rigid and coldhearted as other Christians are. Love does a lot more than any law or anything else. I personally don't think anybody should preach anything if they aren't willing to spend some time with some gay people and see how things are for them for a little while, maybe they would see things differently. It's like saying divorce is wrong. It is wrong under most circumstances, but some people know it's wrong but they are in situations where they just can't take it anymore. And they've tried. So it's one thing for people to be gay - but to re-define marriage - can cause our entire society effects that can't be taken back easily. I'm not so sure I understand what those effects are or what that all means. I don't really know everything. But don't let people tell you that if you support marriage being between a man and a woman that you are anti-gay - maybe anti-gay agenda maybe, but not anti gay. Gay people are people and need love and support just like anybody else.. It is sad that they've been demonized. Any group is subject to this kind of thing and that isn't right. I don't think homosexuality is right. I think it is a sin. I care for my gay friends, I want to do what is right in the sight of God and I feel caught in the middle. Hope this helps you.

I am a Christian. I do NOT want to see gay marriage legalized. And I do boycott Long John Silvers and Red Lobster.

The gay thing has to do with Jesus Christ re-affirming that homosexual relationships are against God's will for humanity.

The Silvers and Lobster thing has to do with the fact that their food is crap.

I voted for allowing gay marriage when it was on the ballot. But I don't like Red Lobster because they destroyed many live oak trees when they built their restaurant in Gulfport, Mississippi. On August 29th, 2005, Nature's revenge took the Red Lobster out to sea. Only a few chairs were left and the roof, held up by steel beams. Karma. ;-)

This is one from the "pick and choose" files of Christianity. Because Christians love crustaceans, they have decided to keep the homosexual part of Leviticus, and no longer abide by the parts that keep them from dredging steamed crustacean meat in butter and consuming. They say that once this dude named Jesus came around, he told them they could no longer abide by the old parts of the bible, and told them he would put out this new better edition, on shelves in the year 200 AD. So this, among other things proves the hypocracy of Christianity, but don't expect any of them to "come to God" over it, and admit they are sadly wrong.
Just remember, peel them before eating for best digestion.

The reason Christians eat seafood and pork is found in Acts 10:9-16. In the New Testament it is still taught that homosexuality is morally wrong(Corinthians 6:9-11), but eating the "forbidden food" is okay.

Christians are hypocrites who only pick certain parts of the Old Testament to follow, and when all else fails, they claim they only follow the New Testament, and when all else fails, they claim you are not judged by your works, and when all else fails, they start a war to kill people who truly understand the Bible. And when they loose the war they claim it's because of the people who truly understood the Bible.

For those that say gay couples can't even conceive babies, then I guess all those opposite sex infertile couples in the fertility clinics in the suburbs should have the marriage liscences revoked and their cremonies considered null and void.

The Bible never once mentions homosexuality. It does condemn interracial couples though so Tiger Woods is going to hell faster than Elton John. The Bible only condemns wild sex with too many people, which only heterosexuals are guilty of.

Ah no... because the ban against sea food was from the Levitical law. Christians eat whatever they want, because in the New Testament, Christ says they can. (Although Jews won't eat at Red Lobster or Long Johns'). Levitical law ended after Jesus came.

no they do not. Also they seem to think that malicious gossips should be allowed to marry, and this behavior is listed as a behavior that will stop you from entering heaven if practiced as a life style or something one does regularly and without remorse... In fact whipering (gossiping) is listed right along side practicing being gay as being behavior that will keep one out of heaven. I never evwen heard this preached. Those eating directions you site do not apply to christians today but the whispering referance does.

The truth is, we don't protest gay marriage. We are in favor of marriage being between a man and a woman. The way God made it to be. Can a woman and a woman make a baby? A man and a man? No, because it's not right. It's not what our bodies were made for. The female body is made to fit her husband into it. You know how it goes, you don't need a lesson
