Gosh, if they do then I'm screwed. I'm an atheist and I'm married... I wonder if they'll start working on tearing down my legal union because their storybook says I'm a bad person.
Submarine: an atheist marriage is a marriage between two atheists, you gigantic DINGBAT. A same sex marriage is a marriage between people of the same sex. Seeing a pattern here?

First: All religions (together with islam and jewism) are agains gay marriage. i don't think of gay human beings are undesirable yet gays wanting to get married is somewhat a provocation. Marriage became initially invented to start up a kin being confident that both guy and spouse would take section contained in the futures baby preparation and founds. yet, 2 guy or 2 woman can no longer conceive a toddler. those days even strait couple are not getting married because its no longer as important as contained in the time at the same time as the pill and different birth control did not exist. So in what objective do gays ask to get married? Provocation.

No, atheists will have their judgement when God decides.
An atheist lifestyle is not an abomination. God has never condemned homosexuals, only their lifestyle. He has declared homosexual actions as wrong.
There is plenty of sex in a marriage and for a gay couple to marry would mean they would definitely engage in intercourse which God has called an abomination. This is like wilful sinning in the eyes of a Christian (which is comparable to someone setting fires because it turns them on, Christians will also stand against this). To not stand against it would be turning a blind eye, something God does not want us to do.
In any case the oficial word 'marriage' is the definition of a man and woman joined by a covenant with God and State. Homosexuals literally can never be 'married' even if America said it was ok. They would also have to officially change the English language, something they are not necessarily allowed to do due to international standards.

Yes, I believe they do. If you don't mind, I will copy and paste something from my blog about this (it is one of my arguments for voting NO on a gay marriage ban in my state):
3. Furthermore, if the Religious Whackos get their way on this one, what's next? Perhaps we will have to take some sort of test before the church in order for the pastor (or whomever) to determine whether or not we are "equally yoked", and therefore biblically qualified to marry one another? You think this sounds strange? Churches already do this to their congregation all the time. I have personal experience with this myself (a long time ago). I had the entire church trying to convince me not to marry my husband as he was an atheist. Imagine if they actually had the legal power to enforce this...
...Keep Church out of Government.

But if you didn't get married in a church, does it even count? Doesn't the whole idea of Christian marriage center around declaring your committment before God and the Church? Do Christians even consider a civil marriage legitimate? i. e. can Atheists even be "married" by the Christian definition?

Your logic is faulty.
One cannot equate atheism with homosexuality. Atheism, although it may be a lifestyle, is a "religious" (or lack thereof) spiritual philosphy.
Unless some gay people are worshipping phallic symbols in a temple somewhere, gayness is about sex, not about religion.
In most cultures marriage is based first on sex, only superficially on religion.

To be an atheist doesn't necessarily mean they are perverted, so go a head and marry. Why you would want to, I don't know, because God established marriage.

No because when atheist marry they are doing at least one thing in accordance with what God intended. When homosexuals get married they are in violation of God's desire.
By the way. There are an awful lot of ex-atheist who converted after getting married. May you live in matrimonial bliss

You can be anything you want to be, but at judgement day, you won't have the chance to say you didn't know it was so...every man will bow,,that will be some Christains too that say they are but don't walk as they should they also will be held accountable..So, don't twist the meanings,,every person knows it is wrong thats why they get mad, because our father is telling them don't do it and that is a form of rebellion,,( don't tell me what to do).Jesus loves all of us so much but noone looks at that they look at what man is saying...Maybe try looking and asking Jesus about things instead of man,,you may get a different answer..
