i told him that i could feel a cavity on the inside of my lower jaw. so he went in and filled it in so i thought. as soon as i stepped out of the dentists office i felt that the cavity was still there with the unnumbed side of my tongue. so i went back in and the dentist's assistant was saying "how could he miss that" over and over again. the dentist filled it in no charge. how bad is that?

Dentists are above all else human. Even they make mistakes. It could be that he had a bad day. Maybe his wife is a ***** and he was dwelling on that! Maybe his elderly mother just died! Maybe he just found out that he has cancer! Give the poor guy a break. He took care of it at no charge! And fixed the other one also. Everybody makes mistakes. That is why a pencil has an eraser on one end!

Unfortunatly fillings can have a law of there own! It may well be that he filled it and the filling came out when rinsing at the end of the appointment. Some parts of the tooth are a rite bugger to get fillings to stay in!
The dental nurse was in the wrong tho and should not of been so unprofessional about it! The nurse hasn't had years of training and hours of exams - i know i am one!

Not good!
I had a bad dentist (I didn't know at the time) for a while. He did a lot of work that I didn't need and didn't do what I did need. It ended up costing me alot of money. Some work I couldn't afford to have redone and had to just have some teeth pulled. Gone forever...Find a new dentist!

dentists suck. my friend, who's only 17, needs TWO root canals now because a dentist she went to didnt fill in her cavities all the way when she was younger. They just kept getting worse so now she needs the root canals..

Wow, that's really bad, not to mention scary. Makes me wonder if he did anything else wrong.

I'd report him to whatever board regulates him and maybe to the BBB if applicable.

Going to the dentist is bad enough without all of that to deal with.

I would definitely complain to someone. It sounds like filling your cavity was suppose to be his main objective, so how could he mess that up?
