I tried EVERYTHING, I see DirectX9.0c on my laptop in properties, I reinstalled a dozen times yet it wont allow me to install my game, it keeps saying I need DirectX9.0c or higher, is my pc not recognizing it??? I saw the answer about the 256 Ram, what does that mean though and what should I be looking at there? I'm not pc literate, just wanted to play my game, this is driving me crazy, why is this happening???

Try going to the direct x http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.mspx
and see if it makes a difference. COuld be you're having a memory problem. If you're running WinXP with 256 Ram (Right mouse buttonh click my computer and go to properties), then you'll have problems even if it loads.
