i need to do a speech for school that convinces people to visit a particular city, which is outside the US. i also need to list 3 tourist attractions or places to visit. the catch is that if you pick Rome, Italy you can only stay in Rome not Sicily or any other city. Can anyone think of a good city with good places to visit...and do you know of any good places? thanks

These are just to name a few. I have been to over 15 different countries and I would HIGHLY recommend Rome. Happy Travels

Another city is Athens -

The ancient site of the city is centered on the rocky hill of the Acropolis with the Parthenon. There is also the Arch of Hadrian, the Temple of Poseidon, ancient Temple of Hephaestus, the ruins of the ancient Athens Stadium (where the ancient Olympics were held). Syntagma Square (Constitution Square) is situated in central Athens and it is the site of the former Royal Palace, now the Greek Parliament and other 19th-century public buildings. At the southern part is the ancient port of Piraeus.

And best thing? We managed to cover all this in 1.5 days!

If you chose Rome, you'll have enough fascinating places to spend years there! Aside from all the churches, artwork, history, the Coliseum, Forum, catacombs, shopping... there's the Vatican, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps....
Go to the library and get the DK travel book on Rome. It has so many color pictures and the best descriptions of any travel guide. I know, we spent two weeks in Rome using the DK guide in 2000.

I visited Europe a few years ago. Paris has many historical and beautiful places to visit. Most are known to all but being there and seeing them are awesome. Seeing The "Mona Lisa" at the louvre was inspiring. Walking along the Champs-Elysees was fabulous. The weather in July was great. The streets were filled with people who were friendly, contary to what you may have heard. I could see the Eiffel Tower from my hotel room at night and it was lit up and breathtaking. A most lovely city.

sure - go exotic and pick one that you can do culture, outdoor, fun. so like in London England you would visit Harrods the department store, Piccadilly square and see some great theater
in Rome you visit a ruin, a cathedral, a museum. in Madrid i would visit El Prado, El escorial, and some cathedrals

now that you have some ideas go on line and look up specifics for any that catches your fancy. get into it like you are really going there and viola A+
