I'm 18 year old and I only weigh 97 pounds. My parents said that I have until oct 10th to get to 100 pounds. Does anyone know how I can get there? Please I need help. I know that this is unhealthy but if I don't get there then I can't see my boyfriend for a month, that includes no talking on the phone and no internet. Please help me.

you should work on building muscle. lift weights everyday, and that should help a lot. then eat foods like, pasta, rice, lean meats, nuts, chicken, turkey...foods high in protein and low in fat.

but gaining (or losing) any more than 1 to 2 pounds a week is unhealthy. Basic thing is, eat more calories than you burn, and keep workouts short and intense, especially aerobic workouts since they burn a lot of calories.

I had the same problem my whole life. I probably weighed about the same as you until 18 (I'm 27 now). Everyone is built differently and some people are just skinny. I don't know your height though, so I can't really say if you are underweight or not.

One thing you could do if you haven't already is take birth control pills. They cause weight gain in many women, from water retention. If your parents wouldn't be cool with that, know that you can get them from your doctor on your own and by law they can't tell your parents if you don't want them to - just an idea for you.

Other than all I can really think of would be diet changes and weight lifting. I found a good website that gives step-by-step instructions. Looks good to me. Good luck!

You can always ad a few pounds by getting $2 worth of pennies to stick in your pockets. Do you eat regular meals if not start and maybe add snacks. A handy thing I found to gain muscle mass is Insure, like get some Icecream and a can or two of insure and make a milkshake in the blender. I've always had a similar problem with being underwieght I'm 135 lbs. But I'm 5'10" guy. If your not a vegan eatt more meat even if you are get more protien in your diet.

If at all possible, have breakfast.

It's a known fact that, if you skip breakfast, you can wait until mid-afternoon for lunch, but if you have breakfast, you'll be desperately ready for lunch by 11:30.

If you're like me, the idea of eating anything early in the day is enough to make you gag, so try having an instant breakfast drink, made with whole milk. It's cold and lovely, and easy on the stomach early in the day.

I used to be severely underweight, and what I did was I drank up to 3 "Ensures" a day. Ensure is a drink with a crapload of calories that make you gain weight. Fast. I used them for about a year, then stopped. I am still underweight, but am out of the unhealthy zone.

By the way, the best flavor is plain old vanilla.

Well after you get off your knees and thank your lucky stars eat bananas and peanut butter that will put it on fast:-) Trust me!!!
Here is a good site about eating disorders, my guess is that is your parents concern. It has a check list... if you do not have an eating disorder sit down with them and show them this site and discuss it. If you do the information is very helpful:-)

wow...are you on a diet? get off it and start eating those fats! lol...they are exactly healthy, but it will help you gain some pounds...just don't eat a lot of it all at once...slow process is best.

and take in more calories/day gradually...fast food is always something that makes people fat...

you're so lucky to weigh so little...i need to lose some pounds >_<

if you don't want any permanent affects before your "weigh in" have a fuller meal than usual and drink plenty of fluids.
In all honesty what's 3 lbs? And why the hell would your parents want to be nitpicking your weight anyway? You're legally considered an adult.

try going to GNC and asking for some weight gaining shakes and drink them along with your meals. That should work.

but whats wierd is how does this affect your using the internet or seeing your boyfriend ?????
