what are some of the things that Americans consider shameful?

I am an American.
1) I am ashamed of the fact that humans in general feel the need to judge and ridicule each other's lives. (this is why wars are created, people are murdered, etc...)
2) I think that we don't do enough to protect our Earth, and that is shameful.
3) I think that racism is shameful. (see answer 1)
4) People ALWAYS want more...shameful.
I thought of a lot more, but it all comes down to the same thing (again, see answer1)

It's shameful to hang an American Flag outside your door that is tattered beyond recognition.

Flags like this should be taken down and put into a "Flag Box". They can be found at most VFW or American Legion Posts. They can be replaced with a crisp, proud new flag at most Hardware or Department stores for about $10.

i think it is a shame how the government has took away the rights of parents and brain washed the american people into thinking that punishment by spanking or paddleing is wrong.

It may seem to some that Nothing in the USA is shameful in this day and age.

However, if you ask "those who know better" they may say:
Laziness, Lying, Greed, Disrespecting your Mother,
and not doing right by your kids.

i like to think of that cheating on your companion remains seen shameful. this modern day it is complicated to tell. additionally having a baby out of wedlock could nevertheless be seen shameful. quite i think it is greater conventional than one born to a married couple.
