How much does a coil pack cost for a 97 Ford Taurus and is still something I would be able to install myself. I know the location of the pack, but just wondering if this is an easy repair?

Are you sure that the plug wires and or plugs are not bad? A coil pack is a very rare item to go bad. They use to run around 70 to 100 bucks, parts stores may have them cheaper.

I'm about to put a brand new coil pack on Ebay for a 97 Taurus SHO. They run about $100 from the dealer, but mine will be sold with no reserve. If your car isn't a SHO, it won't fit. When it comes to changing coil packs on a SHO engine, it's best to have it done by a mechanic because the spark plugs are tough to reach on that engine, especially the rear spark plugs.

i own a repair shop,,and on this one you need to have it done,,its sort of in a bad place to work on,and there kind of hard to get on sometimes, and you can ,mess up if your not experienced at doing this kind of thing, its better off being done by a mechanic,he will have all the necessary tools to do it with ,and he can do it in half the time also, there are a lot of things on the car you could repair,,but id leave this one to a good mechanic,,good luck i hope this help,s.
