No, age gaps are more noticeable and hindering to a relationship when one party has not or can not experience what the other party experiences--ie a 17 year old and a 24 year old wouldn't mix, because the 17 year old cannot drink, smoke, vote, and isn't even an adult, while the 24 year old can and has done those things. Similarly, a 40 year old and a 70 year old wouldn't mix because one is a senior citizen with possible age handicaps, etc. 21 and 26 is well within the same age range for dating.

I am 5 years apart from my boyfriend. It doesn't really make much of a difference, although there are times when we talk about things long ago, and I don't really know what he's talking about. But I think it can work out fine. The older you get, the less age seems to matter. Now if you were 15 and he was 20, that's a bigger gap even though it's the same amount of years.

Not if they care for each other. When you are older like older than 18 age is just a number. If the 21 yr old is mature and your relationship is mature then any age is fine. Its the maturity level than usually doesnt work in a relationship. Some people the same age have a bad relationship. LOL

My great great great great grandad married a 15 y/o when he was 79. He didn't last a week. Died with a smile on his face I was told. True story! Mail order bride thing. Cosmo had a story when I was in a dentist chair (i normally wouldn't read that kind of girly magazine but Novocain does funny things to a guy) a few years back. It said best age for a guy to date was half his age plus 6 (rounded up to an even number) If you swear by Cosmo it's gotta be true. Yeah right!

Not a big deal at all! I'm 22 and I'm dating someone who is just turning 28. We've been together for 1 1/2 years... and age was never really an issue. As long as you connect mentally (and physically, ahah) then there is no reason for it not to work out. Good luck!

First off, do you like the person? Then age doesnt MATTER. and second. no it isnt. My Parents are 37 a 43
andd ive dated up to 5 years apart. Now if you were younger..it might not work due to maturity levels..but im sure you are both past the whole immature thing.

I was 20 when i met my 26 year old now husband. We decided that we should not date because of the age difference, but we just couldn't stop ourselves...we were friends for about 3 months before our first kiss...I'm glad we gave in!

18-91 is a personal decision. If both parties are above the age of maturity whats the problem? Is one of the parties not mature enough to make an adult decision? if a person is old enough and mature enough to handle adult decisions then the matter becomes a matter of personal taste.

nope not even, my ex-bf was 14 years older then me, now that was to big of an age gap for it to work, Thais why I'm not with him, now my bf is 6 years apart and it fits perfectly, him my other half, but then again i don't think age really matters any way if you like/love that person, then it doesn't really matter
