I dont want to cause a panic when I say this....BUT.....I have a niece who is 3. Since her birth, my sister was told that the dry, cracking, peeling skin all over her body was just eczema. My sister was having to put a salve all over my nieces body & put socks on her hands so she wouldnt scratch....
All of this started with the dry cracked skin on her fingertips as well. Come to find out....2 yrs later....when my sister moved to Florida & got a different ped., my niece is allergic to food!....there isnt much she can eat, but mostly she is allergic to peanut, wheat, soy, dairy, chocolate, & shellfish.
After initiating a carefully monitored diet, my niece has perfect skin. Sometimes, my other niece or my nephew will slip her something she cant have & she will have the dry skin again...
I would take her to a Dr. before I would just blow it off & try lotions.....it could be a number of things, but to be on the safe side, it cant hurt to have it checked out.
Good Luck.....

If it just came on, I bet you live in an area that the whether just changed. My fingers always get messed up when the whether goes from warm to cold. The best thind to do is use lots of lotion. The best lotion I ever used was called Corn Huskers Lotion. It looked and feels sticky, but once you rub it in, it leaves your skin so smooth. Of course, Palmers Cocoa Butter heals everything.

If this is not the case, this also may be the result of her using a cleaning product or some other product that did not agree with her skin. I say cleaning product, cuz usually we use our fingertips to clean. The treatment would be the same as above...plus stopping doing whatever she is doing to cause this.

Take your daughter to a doctor and have her checked for Strep. My son had a similar condition, and after trips to different doctors over a period of some five months, we FINALLY found a doctor who correctly diagnosed the problem.

many things could be causing it but a fast cure to heal, put Vasaline on her fingers and thin socks , when she goes to bed. It will soak in while she sleeps and by morning you should already see a difference. Hope this helps.

I would suggest you get professional medical advise.

Many people put a few drops of olive oil in the palms of their hands and rub it in daily. It has worked and its basically harmless.
