The most likely thing is that you were being too friendly with the iguana. They are very territorial and require lots of respect. If you're feeding the iguana enough food anyway, it's very unlikely they would bite you for the hunger factor.
Regardless of why the iguana did it, please make sure to wash your hands or whatever skin it bit. While proper handwashing is an effective countermeasure on people's side, iguanas carry a lot of germs that can make a person sick.

No, it means the critter is shark bait! Stick a hook in it and toss it in the ocean! NASTY little beasts! Why you keep such a thing in you house, that's just unnatural. You LIKE salmonella? Leave such critters where she put 'em and don't fool with Mother Nature!

No it just has a ferocius nature, but not a dangerous nature....Unless you haven't been feeding it ...Then thats a problem...
