Peter was the only one who called him the messiah, the rest told Jesus what other people were cslling him

some thought he was Elias, some thought him to be John the Baptist, others thought him to be one of the other Prophets. Jesus asked Peter, "but whom do ye say that I am?" Peter answered, "Thou art the Christ, The Son of the Living God!" Matthew 16:15 & 16.
