Try some Milanesa (lightly breaded thin steak) to cut up for tortillas with all the trimmings.
Or maybe some Caldo de Res (basically mexican version of beef stew)
If you like different tastes, try Chicken Mole. (chicken in a dark robust peanutty sauce)
Chili con carne is good too. (Meat chili type)
Don't forget the Chili con Queso (cheese dip)for dip with your chips.
Somebody else mentioned Carne Asada and Carne Guisada - both very yummy.

Anything Mexican is the best. All or any of that would be great. Just remember don't load up on too many chips before your food comes.

Oh, I have so many recomendations! Try Barbacoa or tamales or gorditas. And for dessert, see if the resturant sells leche quemada (a candy made from burnt milk).

Moles are great and there are so many different varieties of them depending on where in Mexico they originate.

But one of my all time favorites is Pozole. Or Garlic Soup (Sopa de Ajo)

Nice cold glass of Horchata to wash it all down.
