It will be fine. Pugs are indoor dogs. Keep it inside and walk it on a leash outside. Put a sweater or a coat on it when you take it out. I have a pug and he LOVES getting dressed up in clothes. He has never had a problem with cold temperatures.

I've lived in Alaska for most of my life, and a pug will be fine in Anchorage. As long as you keep the dog mostly indoors, and put a sweater on him or her when you walk him in the winter, it should be fine. You will definitely not want to leave him or her out overnight in the winter, though.
I've never owned a pug in Alaska, but I did own another small breed dog, I've got a friend that had a Chihuahua, and I've seen lots of pugs while out walking my dog.
Hope this helps!

Your dog will be fine -- Anchorage isn't nearly as cold as some of the more inland cities. Never had a pug myself, but our neighbors had a Pomeranian which did just fine. However, you may want to invest in some little doggie coats to help him keep warm (first snowfall is in October, and it generally stays on the ground until April or May). And get yourself some shoes with good traction for when you take the dog on walks -- you'll also have to contend with icy sidewalks and black ice on the roads for 6 months out of the year.
Oh yeah....and watch out for moose and/or bears while you're going for walks -- never ran into a bear, but at any given time there are up to 70 moose wandering around in the city (particularly in the winter, when food is scarce); and they can be a mite cranky, especially if they've got a dog yapping at them.

I know of people who lived in Alaska and raised Chihuahuas. If a chi can survive Alaska, I think a pug would too. You would probably have to keep it inside except on the warmest days. Train it to a litter box.

I have seen a lot of pugs in Juneau. They even had group of pugs during a 4th of July parade. Bald eagles could be a problem so do not leave your pug unattended outside.

everywhere is extra accepting of multi-racial young ones than 2 an prolonged time in the past while those memories would have all started. yet nevertheless, the bigots and racists do seem to cluster in small cities and in the south. And, your babies might in all threat sense extra gentle in an area the place they're the only blended-race young ones. Seattle, Portland*, San Francisco and l. a. aspects are all very, very accepting of blended-race human beings and there are various around. college cities throughout the rustic (Ann Arbor MI, Lawrance KS, Madison WI, Corvallis OR, etc) are very liberal, accepting (yet notably dang white). *pals in Portland (a black/white couple) have young ones in the faculties there. there replace right into a sparkling Asian youngster in pre-college. no longer something unusual approximately that. yet their son replace into stunned while Asian mum and dad got here to %. up the boy. He hadn't seen that take place till now (through fact the different Asian young ones have been observed young ones in white families).
