Is this really a question? With all of the loudmouthed Evangelicals out there demanding legislation that mirrors their spiritual beliefs I would think the answer is obvious. The truly ironic part of this is that this country was founded on principles that separated religion and government, while today's evangelicals are trying to enshrine the Bible in the Constitution! It appears obvious they wish to live in a theocracy, in which case I suggest they go find their own country in which they can do so.

I would say so, yes.

Watch Jesus Camp. This is a story of kids being brainwashed into extreme right-wing religious fervor. C'mon.. they get a cardboard Wubya and say their thanks to it?

These kids will then grow up to home-school their kids while they go out to preach and use their vote (cos you know they will vote) and their minority voice to sway the country's political stance from middle to right.

To Mmmk: This country was not founded on a principal religion. In fact, the majority of the Founding Fathers either didn't believe in god or didn't believe in a PERSONAL god (such as the Judeo-Christian god). They were deists. This country was founded on the notion that all people could practice any belief, not just Christianity. Otherwise, we'd have a church like the Church of England.

I've read the Washington Speech, and many points are true. However, there are no points on a specific religion, nor any religion for that matter. Read what Thomas Jefferson has to say regarding religion sometime. He's staunchly against it (esp. Christianity).

No, I don't think so. They are putting people in charge of the government... hopefully so... not a God. A theocracy is when God is in charge. not men. Jewish ancient culture before King Saul had a theocracy....where God was the 'King" then they even chose to have their own king...and they had Saul, then David then Solomon and a series of failures after that. The perfect theocracy will be when we get to heaven... It won't work down here on this earth

I don't know but I do know that a theocracy is impossible as long as there is greed. And Greed will always exist untill The world is perfected. So any attempt to creat a theocracy will only result in comunisum.

"Christians favor u.s. to formally develop right into a Christian united states." particular about that? As a Christian, the finest challenge i favor is to stay in a Christian united states. I strongly help the separation of church and state. even as some human beings might want to locate the idea of a theocracy beautiful, i do not. i do not favor my faith or all and sundry else's to dominate authorities. I help secular authorities and public practise. i have spoken out publicly on many events antagonistic to religious beliefs being positioned into regulation. non secular authorities isn't good for all and sundry, and that i'm saying this as a non secular individual.

Christians just are they just believe in living life the way Jesus thought, with love and compassion for everyone even our enemies. This is true love, to pray for those who persecute you because they don't know Jesus or The Way to life. Therefore they are lost in this world and need our prayers.

U.S. is on the way to becoming a Taliban type Bible Nazi Christian state. South Dakota should have it's star on the American flag replaced by a coathanger.
