I am half Black( hatitian) and have indian ( trinidadian). My hair comes more from my black side, so my mom would get my hair permed twice a year, starting at the age of 8. im now 14. I used to have really thick long hair, but lately my hair has been geting shorter and thinner. Its now a few inches past my sholder and people are always asking me if I got my hair. So, I researched the problem and found out that perms and greases and oils with petroleum are not good for your hair at all. Should I grow the perm out or keep getting it? Should I stop oiling and greasing my hair

Use a product that only contains natural herbs, and vitamins. Nothing with beeswax or petroleum jelly. That holds dirt and makes your hair too greasy and limp. Perms are OK if you use the correct strength for your hair type. Start messaging your scalp with a great hair dressing especially the scalp, hair line and temple area. Use a little each time. If your hair is damage, the damage hair must be removes by clipping your ends.

Hi Steffi. Sounds to me like your hair and prolly your body are going thru changes. Over perming and those greases and oils are not good for your hair. Ill venture to bet your perms are causing breakage and thats why its shorter and thinner. Please stop perming and let your hair grow. when its back to healthy maybe you can try again. and have it done by someone reputable. GL hun.

Well,I think you should keep using oil for your hair. Cause black people don't have natural oils like us white people. And if you don't, then your hair will dry out,but I don't have any advice on the perm part. Sorry. Good luck.
