And I have an appointment in 2 weeks to get her spayed. The puppies are weined and gone and she started this bad habit. Vet did not give me a reason why my female lab started to do this just told me to make an appointment to get her spayed. Why would she start this terrible habit?

Who cares ? I agree with your Vet. Just get her spay. It will probably stop then. Good Luck! :)

I wouldn't worry about it. Having her spayed should solve the dilemma.
