We switched to TheraBreath (original), I forgot how I found out about it, but ordered online. It's also now at WalMart, CVS and Walgreens. We got the Oral Rinse and the tongue scrapers too - they are terrific.

Anyway, it is great (but expensive)... since it leaves a very neutral taste, it's not harsh like typical toothpaste, the breath is left crystal clean and fresh. I have tried on occasion to go back to the other stuff, bc it's less expensive - but we're spoiled now and so keep going back to TheraBreath. We feel we save money in other areas and if we're so happy with this product, even though it's expensive - so what. People spend more money on other stuff that's really not important. I just like the way it tastes!

I want to also mention we got an electric toothbrush (finally after all these years using a manual one). I cannot believe the difference in cleaning ability - we got the Braun Oral B and it's like having had your teeth cleaned at the dentist, it's so good.

Note: we did try Biotene -that tasted like crap! And I don't like regular toothpaste bc I think it's harsh-tasting and leaves a "slimey" residue that the Therabreath eliminates. They also have good gum.

I use SF 5000 Plus. It is a prescription toothpaste that has a lot more fluoride in it than regular toothpaste. I have to use the prescription paste due to sensitive teeth and gums. Believe me, I have been using this toothpaste for almost two years and it works great!

I like Crest Pro Health. It has stannous fluoride, which is the "original and proven" fluoride compound that is move available to the teeth. Stannous fluoride is also better at killing germs and this makes Pro Health more suitable for use to prevent gum problems.

***Note to Alfawolfette: Biotene is SUPPOSED to leave a "slimy" coating in your mouth. It is for use by people with dry mouth.
