Lumps can be anything from skin allergies to enlarged lymphnodes to harmless lipomas to malignant mast cell tumours or soft tissue sarcomas. If you are noticing lumps develop on your dog it is wise to get them checked out ASAP. That way if it is one of the nasty ones you can deal with it quickly and hopefully get it before it spreads.
Good luck with him!

Some dogs, develop lypomas which are fatty tumors, sometimes they grow but most of the time they don't. You can have them removed if you would like. And then there is always a risk of tumors. Benign or malignant, you may want to have them removed, because they may grow in size. You deffinately should have your vet check them out.

Schnauzer bumps! He has bumps primarily on his back along the spine. They are plugged sebaceous glands. Talk to your groomer about them or try rubbing alcohol. They normally do not become infected.

is your dog older? Are they hard or soft? some dogs just get little hard skin tumors or soft fatty tumors. but again no one can see these things to tell you. Its probably nothing to worry about but heed what lilbit wrote because he is absolutely correct.
