As a younger woman I hung out with and was part of a motorcycle club. its not a part of my life im really proud of. I did a lot of things I should not have done. Against my wishes my sister told my 17 year old niece about that time of my life. Now my niece pesters me with questions....Id rather not answer its past and I want to forget it. I dont want to be rude to her but I also dont want her to think it was "fun" if I dont talk to her about it....any advice?

Tell her the truth, she's old enough, you don't have to go into detail about the really gruesome things, but don't hold back. The fantasy of not knowing can make things seem really attractive. If you tell her it might just take away some of the romanticism that she has imagined or built up. Good luck.

It was a part of your life, you should be honest with your niece about it. If she asks you a question, answer her honestly, but certainly don't glamorize things you have done in the past that she might see as "cool." Let her know that the consequences of your actions far outweighed any "fun" you may have had at the time. I would also talk to your sister, if I were you, and let her know that you do not appreciate her giving your niece personal information about yourself that you probably would have wanted to tell her your self. Good luck!

Tell her just what you said here, not a time of your life you are proud of and would rather NOT talk about it.

I would answer her questions and let her know how dangerous that lifestyle can be. If she is left hanging with no answers, she may want to experience it herself. Good luck

I would just tell her that you feel that you made some mistakes in
your life back then and would appreciate it if she would let the subject go .

Why not tell her exactly what you told us? It sounds perfect and very honest to me.
