What state are you in? I am in Alaska and there is no place for a free criminal background check. Some employers pay for it. Some will reimburse you. Unless it is a real good job, I would not pay for it myself. I did take one job that would reimburse the employee after 90 days. I thought this was lame but took the job anyway.

Is this background check required before you get the job?
THEY should be paying for this,not you!
If they want you to pay for it then I'd be doing some research on THEM!
Find another place to work! These people will be asking you to supply your own pens and paper clips!
