It depends on which churches you are speaking of. Catholic churches tend to focus more on tradition, whereas Protestant churches tend to believe that the Bible is more important.

The One True Church founded by Jesus Christ has 2,000 years of tradition behind it, forming the rich and holy structure within which the fullness of truth can be taught, and God can be worshipped as He wishes to be worshipped. At the Last Supper Jesus demonstrated a specific manner of worship, and then commanded the Apostles "DO THIS in remembrance of Me". The Catholic Church obeys the command of Christ. It is part of the Church's Tradition. Why don't other churches obey this direct command of Almighty God? Why do they replace this true Tradition with mere human traditions invented in the past few hundred years? Trying to substitute a book of Catholic writings for the God-given authority of God's Church is one such human tradition. Until recent times, no Christian on Earth would have thought of looking to a book for doctrinal truth when God had given them a Church with a divine guarantee of truth. They would have expected, and rightly so, that such an approach could only result in the ongoing division and fragmentation of those who live by such a manmade, unbiblical tradition.

We are members of the church of God. More importantly we are part of His body. Christ is the head and the church is the body with many different functions. One group may be part of the hand the other part of the foot. Every member being just as important in the body as the other. Even if a member considers themself the tiny piggy toe, the body would fall over without them. This body is the universal move on the earth. Our hopes is that some day we will become full grown as the church.
