After a month, I didn't even know if he thought I was good looking or not. I didn't know what he even liked about me? He said, he just doesn't express himself.
In the mall, I have guys saying nice things to me. My ex showed me with affection and attentivess, yet, in one month, I got one direct 'I like this' after I asked him what he even liked about me...
Is this normal for guys? Cuase with my last boyfriends, they would have some nice things to say about me to my face...

That's as good a reason as any to break up with someone. If hs is involved with himself and doesn't want to have nice conversations with you and share his thoughts then you are better off alone.

That's a hard question some guys are good at expressing themselves and others aren't. When you two met did he ever say anything to you? Do you compliment him? Did you even try talking to him about the way you feel. In today's society it's hard for guys to express their feelings they feel that if they show emotion they are not hard or can be wimpy. You need to tell a guy what you want not all girls are the same maybe his last girl didn't like that sort of thing.

Your boyfriend should tell you that you're beautiful, and you look good and smell good and all that nice stuff. But most guys do have a hard time expressing themselves. This guy didn't seem right for you anyway, so don't sweat it. He just wasn't for you.
If a guy really likes you though, after a week or two he should be saying sweet things to you.

Well u broke up with him so it is over...end of story. I'm not a guy but i know that lotsa guys sometimes feel akward complimenting a girl (tho this is hard to believe). But i think that insteade of breaking up with him u could have talked some more to him...or even try to get him to agree to couples counsling. I.K that it sounds lame but me and my bf went and now we are sooooo in love it isnt even funny. But i dont think at all that u are asking to much for him to complimet u once in a while. Girls deserve to be treated like a princess. My Bf compliments me all the time.

Some guys are just funny about opening up, but I think if you told him how you feel and get him to open up, you will learn a little about him that you probably didn't know was there. If he still doesn't show much, then he's just wasting time with you. When someone is really interested in someone else they will do anything to keep them.

I'm sure there must be something he likes about you b/c he is still with you. I do agree that he should be able to say something nice every now and again. Maybe he will find a way to express himself in due time b4 it's too late for the relationship. If he knew he was about to loose you, and you meant anything to him I'm sure he will start expressing himself. GOOD LUCK!!!!

some men are very quiet but they are very good men they just don't get upset and are quiet my man is very quiet and he dose say nice things but he is just very quiet and never yells at me he is a sweetie sometimes I have to say what are you thinking cause he will just sit there staring at me and he will smile when i catch him and I will say what are you thinking and he will say how much I love you!!!! some times a man will need to be quiet but that is not a bad thing cause usually the guy needs to listen to the woman cause we do a lot of talking for the both of them I finish his sentence already and we have only been together for a 2 months the pastor met with us twice and the pastor said to me why do you always answer his questions for him or finish his answers and I did not really realize I was doing it and my man said he like that cause he is not much of a talker so he was glad I was being his mouth piece for him and the pastor thought it was very funny too!!!

Yes it's normal. Some guys juts aren't good at expressing their feelings. And if he doesn't think that u're pretty he wouldn't have asked u to be his girlfriend in the first place...have confidence! I'm in the process of building up my self esteem as well! Good luck! :-)

That is not normal. I knew a young lady who was very beautiful, smart, and had many good qualities. Her husband never complimented her and they were married 4 years. When she confronted him about it, he said he didn't want her to get big-headed. I would move on if I were you. If your boyfriend or husband can't even give you a compliment, your life would be miserable.

Yeah, but some of those past bf's may have just been sweet-talking you, too! At least this guy is not a sociopath who is trying to talk his way into your pants!
Sounds like a keeper. Either you like yourself the way you are, or you don't. you don't need a guy to validate that.
