Let's say I ate something tonight for dinner...when would it come out the other end?
What if I pass it faster...say within an hour or two...is that a bad sign?

It's not possible for it to come through after an hour or two... your body needs at least an hour to digest protein in the stomach, and that's before it goes on down to your small intestines to digest and absorb carbohydrates and fats. It's more likely that the food you ate added pressure in your gastrointestinal tract and pushed out the waste matter that was already in there.
If your body did really pass the food out within an hour or two, you'd be malnourished because your body won't have enough time to absorb the nutrients at all.
Take care, I hope this helps.

It varies according to a million of factors. The fastes that I´ve known was 12 hrs in a man with short bowel syndrome, this by using the endoscopic capsule. Usually it takes the capsule about 24-48 hrs, but we´ve seen it could take up to 72 hrs till it reaches the rear end.
