A thorough understanding of the Bible is an education unto itself. It is not however held in high esteem in most academic circles so to get a good job you will most likely either need a college degree or a good skill or trade (plumber, electrician, carpenter, mechanic, etc.)
All knowledge is important. We must acquire it where ever and whenever we can. Truth can be found everywhere because God is everywhere. To assume that one may be more important than the other is not wise. Of course faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God so Biblical Knowledge is most important but in Proverbs, Solomon instructed that we seek knowledge at all cost and he was not talking about just Bible knowledge but rather everything that we could learn about anything. Much knowledge can be attained in college. Facts are facts. We must however understand spiritual principles to be able to correctly discern facts from opinions. Conclusions may be flawed, arguments misconstrued and so forth but skills can be learned in college that will hone and perfect our minds and help us think more clearly.

Speaking as someone who has never had religion play much of a role in his life, I think biblical knowledge is not very important.
I lead a perfectly happy, productive, and moral lifestyle, without ever having read the bible or worshipping God. I never felt the need, despite numerous people trying to "save" me. I never felt anything missing from my life. In fact, I just don't understand why people even believe in God or any of the others in the first place. None of the religious types can come up with any kind of logical rationale as to why so many horrible things happen in this world, both natural and man made, other than it's God's will.
At the risk of upsetting a few evangelical types, there are only two kinds of people who are religious. Those that were raised that way, and those that had some sort of crisis in their life where they turned to religion for emotional help.
This means that the people who were raised that way, don't really know how to live without it. It was just crammed into them when they were young and they just grew up accepting it as fact. The people that got religion as a result of some emotional crisis took it up as a crutch to help them deal with life. I've never met a single soul who was doing well in life and suddenly felt the need to start being religious. Apparently, God doesn't call the self-sufficient to him, unless they were already raised that way.
Sorry I went off on this tangent.

Gaining knowledge is a waste of time. The only thing that is important is loving Jesus. In fact many people who gain too much knowlege are turned away from Jesus as a result, and will end up burning in hell.

It depends on how important either one is to you. If you are religious then biblical knowledge would be more important but it would not exclude you from attaining practical knowledge not just college knowledge!
