I like lighter beers more than the darker Stouts...

2 of my favorite domestics:
- Blue Moon - Made by Coors, but it tastes like an import. It is SO refreshing, and it's my favorite summer beer. Always make sure to get an orange slice with it. Any place that serves it without an orange slice does not deserve to serve it at all.

- Sam Adams Lager - Just like the commercial says, this is what beer should taste like. Not like the water that is Bud Light, Miller Lite, etc...just a good wholesome beer!

2 of my favorite imports:
- Stella Artois - If I was given the choice to have any beer I could choose, this would be it 90% of the time. It's a little bitter, but such a great flavor, just heavenly!

- Czechvar (Budvar) - I DO like the taste of this beer, but the history and story behind it is kind of fun. Without going into too much detail, some people say this is the ORIGINAL Budweiser (tastes nothing like the Budweiser we know). I had it in Prague for the first time and think it's very good. Check out the link to Wikipedia to read more about it.

In no particular order:

Guinness Stout
Anything brewed by Anchor Brewing of San Francisco
Long Trail Pale Ale
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale
Ballantine India Pale Ale (Very strong. Drink with care.)
Alimony Ale
My own homebrewed Doc's Original High Speed Wholly Smoke Bitter Ale (not available in stores).
Wurzburger
Watney's London Stingo Ale (Aptly called "Poor man's whisky". It'll knock you right off your bar stool if you swill it like it was Bud.)
Bitburger
Murphy's Stout
Pilsner Urquell
Molson Export Ale (red label).

Lotta good beer out there. No reason whatever to drink the swill most American brewers and marketers pass off on the unsuspecting.

You've almost got a case of 24 here with all the different answers. There is a beer called Brahma. It's smooth, from Brazil and it has a cool bottle that fits nicely in your hand.

these are two VERY different suggestions, but baoth are very tasty. I have worked in a pub that served over 180 different beers, and these are two of my favorites. One is hooegarden... a belgian white, excellent with an oranged slice. Also, Samuel Smith's Nut Brown Ale. An excellent smooth ale. Good luck!

My last beer was 22 years ago but I can still taste it. Its called Anchor Steam Ale and it is brewed in San Francisco, Cal.

Its uses the original steam brewing methods that date back to the 1800's.

Before that it was Labatts 50 or Blue. Canadian domestic.

Check it out.
