Depression is never cured but it can be managed. With the proper medication and/or therapy sessions you can live a normal life. Some people are prone to depression and sometimes depression runs in your family. Make sure you are honest w/your therapist on whats depressing you. Could be situational, seasonal, etc...Hang in there things will get better.

I think so, if you deal with the real problem. Sometimes talking about it helps and the therapist can let you know if your depression is worsening. Sometimes we don't know ourselves when we are getting worse. Has your therapist discussed other options, such as medication? Medication combined with other things is what finally helped me. I could not think clearly enough to help myself until the medication helped me. I do not have to use it long term, but it is helping now. Many people are against medication. I was too until I became extremely depressed.

You're the only one that can cure your depression. Unlike diseases, no one else can cure it for you.
One way in getting closer to curing it is by having a positive attitude. Think to yourself that you WILL NOT allow things to depress you. Think to yourself that YOU KNOW you can tackle all these puny, little sad thoughts.
Those that give up and rely completely on doctors and psychologists for mental help are those who will most likely never be cured of depression.

You can only be cured if you are really sick.. If there is a good reason for your depression then you are normal. In my opinion it's all at how you look at things. is the glass half empty or half full?

A therapist can help you get your problems or concerns out in the open, but to experience true healing, you have to make the necessary changes or choices. Find out what makes you happy in life and do it. I keep a list on my frig of all the things I like to do and do well. I do one of those activities every day. It maintains my positive self-esteem and gives me great enjoyment.

No, it will possibly help you to talk through some of your issues and anxieties. Are you on medication? THere are alot of good antidepressants out there worth trying. Also, you may want to exercise more, it will release endorphines and help with your depression. You also may move beyond it if it is not too severe. Do you know why you are depressed? Or is it more chemical?

there are a couple of types of depression -major -and situational- situational has more to do with the current events in your life . if you can alleviate the current problems you are experiencing and they are the influencing factor in your depression you can nail it down quicker than if it is a long term situation ie- childhood problems etc. the quicker you get on it the better your chances of eliminating / controlling it.
