I think there are limits to prayer, and God expects us to step in for Him every now and then.

Excellent!!! Exactly ....everyone who prays and prays and prays but does little to nothing about the situation they are expecting God to repair...is basically taxing the Father. Just as mortal parents want their children to learn for themselves, act for themselves, think for themselves...so too does God. Perhaps when one prays about something often yet nothing transforms, the situation remains the same or worsens...God is trying to tell them that he wants them to give Him a hand for a change.

Good thinking, good luck with your efforts...watch how things transpire now.

True, prayer is limited to the rhelm of doing nothing, but claiming to. Hoping, wishing and praying are not courses of action..

no and yes, honestly you shouldn't do anything without praying about it. in my opinion. Sometimes it is best to help people, and sometimes it is best not to help them. sometimes we are supposed to be used to help meet people's needs and sometimes not. Sometimes people need to hit bottom first. So, how do you have the discernment you need if you aren't praying. You don't. So you might need to help them, but if you aren't asking the one who actually knows, then how would you know? you wouldn't. kinda silly. Sounds like you are just being impatient.

There's an old Russian proverb... "Pray to God, but keep rowing to shore."

It's all well and good to pray, but to accomplish something, you also need to work toward it.
