After a break-up, I usually tell myself that it's okay that the relationship is over. It just didn't work out and that there will be someone else to come to save me from so much heartbreak soon. I also tend to let myself know that there is always one soulmate for everyone in this world without a bdoubt and this is soemthing I truly believe. In addition to this, I try to stay friends with the guy after a break-up. It makes me feel more comfortable and helps me get over them sooner because I know they're still there for me someday if I ever need something/someone to talk to. Uhm..yeap..I'm sorry if this doesn't help. I'm just a freshman in high school so yea...lol

You need to focus on other things, look at what you do have. A good technique is to physically write down the things that are good in your life, and then focus on them. Go for more walks in the evening, talk to your family and friends more (that's what they are there for anyway). Do anything that will take your mind off of the situation. I feel your pain, and the only truth that I can offer you is that break ups are different for everybody, and the time it takes to recover varys, but I do know that there is so much in life to live for, and most times we take that for granted. Get back to the basics, and live your life. God bless and Good Luck!!!!

Drugs and alcohol don't' really work very well.
Sheer determination that no one see you break down and cry is the best answer. Find enough pride in yourself to stand up and hold your head tall. If a thought of the ex comes into your mind you must make yourself think about something else.

OK, first cry. Cry a lot. Then make a plan for your future. "Your new future". If the plan fails, make another one. If you find yourself needing to cry, than do it. But just keep on moving, mentally.

You've got to love yourself (i.e. don't think that you're "nothing" without him).
Then look at the positives:
-more time for hobbies/favorite pasttimes
-more time with friends
-excitement of dating new people
