Not a problem. Not long. if you did nothing else than plug it up with water, just shake your head violently and risk brain damage or your friends looking at you wierd, or you can go to sleep with the plugged up ear on your pillow. you should be fine in the morning. it'd be harder if you were underwater all day. Same thing.
Don't stick anything in your ear except your elbow or a football

You might have a wax obstruction that you don't notice until it traps water. You may go to the drug store and buy wax removal drops and an ear syringe. The drops will soften the wax and the syringe, when filled with water, will flush out the wax plug. At the doctor, he will use a large stainless steel syringe (without a needle) and squirt it in your ear to flush out the debris.
This happens to me once in a while, especially after using ear plugs.

If the shaking of the head doesnt work, they have drops that you can get rid of it its called Uaro aura or something to that effect it has a guy swimming on the carton. Any way I would do something with it before it becomes swimmers ear and that hurts. If nothing else I would go see your doc. Good luck and take care.

Happens all the time to people who over clean their ears using Q-tips. Don't stick those things all the way into your ear, that's your ear canal, and a little wax in there keeps fluid from building up among other things.

it will go away as soon as you get the water out of your ear. like everyone else said. jump up and down with the ear with the water in it facing the ground (just as a plus youll look like a fool doing this) if that doesnt get the water out, when you go to bed tonight sleep with the ear with the water in it on your pillow so water can drain out while you sleep. if you still have water in your ear go to a pharmacy and ask them for something to get water out of your ear (or something for swimers ear) the medications cheap and you just put a drop in your ear and it disolves the water.
hope i helped... (if you leave the water in your ear it will get infected)

umm sounds like you have a lot of water in there cause that happens to me sometimes and usually it will come back in a couple of days a week at the most... try chewing gum it helps your ears pop which will help a little with getting your hearing back

In a couple of days. I've had this happen too and I make sure I sleep on the affected side and the water will drain a little as you sleep.

You probably just have water in your hear, bang you head a couple of times to the side and do that repetidly, or you could shake your head vilonetly back and forth and try to get it out that way.

lay down on a pillow on that ear, when you feel your ear get warmer, you will know the water is probably gone. it takes me about 10-20 minutes. i try to do this while im going to bed so i doesnt disrupt my day.

it'll probably go away in like a day. i get that a lot. especially in the pool. if you shake ur head side to side real fast, or even, this sounds really stupid, but it works for me, you could bang ur head on a couch, ear facing into the couch.
