Either his friends are messing with you, or he told them in confidence that they wouldn't tell anyone. Ask him if he likes you or not.......don't say his friends told you. Just tell him YOU want to know. If he asks why again, just say "because I might like you back". Or something cheesy like that to lighten up the mood. =-)

Just be friends with him. If he likes you he will go after you if not then at lest you have a friendship.
