Why, for the love of everything that is right with the world, would you want to join any military controlled by the blithering idiot currently sitting in The White House?

Unlike many of the answers here, i want to congratulate you on your courage for joining the finest fighting force in teh world. As you can probably tell, I am a Marine. First off, you have to be 18 to sign a contract. Talk to a recruiter about it. If you haven't yet, you will have to take the ASVAB test. (it is not hard). If you are 17 and a senior in highschool, you will need your parents to sign as well. 18, you can sign alone. After you talk to the recruiter and take the ASVAB, you are going to get a score. Based on this score, you have a variety of jobs or MOS (military occupational specialty) open to you. You pick a program which could be Infantry, Aviation Maintenance, Communications, Artilery, etc. After you do this, start working out and getting in shape. Depending on where you live, you'll either go to Parris Island, SC or San Diego, CA for boot camp. Both are tough in their own way. Biggest thing, work out and get in shape. You could get away with being in "okay" shape at the beginning of boot, but towards teh end and after you're fully in, "okay" won't cut it. Let me know if you want any more advice or if you want to ask questions before you go talk to the recruiter. You can check online at www.marines.com to find the closest recruiters office.

Go see your recruiters. Thats what my brother did. He is in the Marines. Also, maybe you should go on to anysoldier.com and write a letter to one and ask them to help you make this important decision. O yeah dont listen to all the crappy answers about the government and military is no good. Do thoes people not notice that there hasnt been any recent attacks? idiots. So, i say join if this is what you want to do for 4 years or your whole life!!!!! I support you in you decision, and i always have of everyone not just now because my brother is in the Marines. O yeah boot camp isnt that bad he said. So good, luck! Please email me back if you do decide!!!!!!!

That dude above me thinks 9/11 was an inside job. He's in bed with nutty conspiracy theorists.
The military isn't a picknik, it's the arm of the gov't that fights wars.

It's always good to know that more people are willing to sacrifice their lives for the well-being of the profits of Halliburton, Chevron, and other such worthy beneficiaries.
