I am having all my windows replaced in my house and my big picture window to be turned into a sliding glass door. These are my options.
Should I go with a home improvement company that has been in business 28 years and will have the work done in about 2-3 days and warranty's everything for 50 years. Cost about 15,000
Should I go with a friend of the family that has his own home improvement business. He put in a cement floor in my parents polebarn with about 4 other guys. Saved my parents a couple thousand and did a decent job I thought. But no warrenty and may take longer but is probably cheaper than the first company.
Or I can get some Amish people to come in and put windows in that I buy. I was told I could save a considerable amount of money and hear the job will be good quality. But may take longer.
Any advice would be appreciated!

Clear your head and give this some thought. Your getting new windows for your home. You have to consider other options. Such as will I be in this home for ever and will I pass it on to my kids? Do I have and/or want to spend a large amount of money on this project? Will I sell my home in the future? If this home will be perminate then go with the option 1. You will have some security that professionals will be responsible with a warranty. If time isn't a problem and your not in a rush go with the option 3 The Amish. You can save some money and get good quality. No offense to your friend if you looking to give a small time business a helping hand then option 2. You know his work and you would be comfortable with them. Good luck in making a choice.

P.S. do research on the company you choose if you go that route. Gotta make sure they are certifiable.

when it comes to windows and home remodling associated with this you need experience. the 50 year warranty is B.S. how old is the owner now 55? geeze? But you can run into problems fitting the windows and sealing them sometimes sizes can even be wrong and that's where the experience is needed. The job must be done correctly sometimes the inexperienced guy has the best of intentions but it doesn't work out so well. I would let the Amish do anything for me unfortunatley in Florida my Amish speak spanish So I set all the windows in my homes myself. It's important that they are sealed and plumb. But if any of those guys want to get out of the winter cold and into a little sunshine. Now you've got me thinking. Maybe I shoud start building Homes in PA. Hows the market up there? it's slow here.

I'd go with the company that has been around for 28 years, and get the warranty. Just remember that the warranty is only good as long as the company is in business.

Window Vista has far extra characteristic plus extra helpful hardware that help vista with window xp somewhat any applications that may shop up with extra modern technologies. Plus the clarification why they make a 2d Verizon of a product is using the undeniable fact that's extra helpful then the only million st verizon. So earlier you start up up announcing window xp is extra helpful then vista that's clearly not because of the fact with window xp barley has any applications can it help blue teeth? Can window xp be connect with xbox 360 or ps3? vista can yet plus those people who're announcing xp the two cant cope with to pay for vista or has a older workstation.... and likewise they made a extra modern verison of vista much less glichts.

I would go with the Amish. The windows should come with some warranty anyway. The Amish are know for the quality they put in all their work.

I work for a window installer, go with the company because the warranty is usually lifetime and it covers glass damage etc. so if its scratched, broken or whatever its replaced for free

Choose the company that will give you a good warranty. You would really be "out of pocket" if anything goes wrong and you don't have a warranty.
