I am white and my girlfriend is Japanese. We have a great relationship and love each other very much. Everything is great except when it comes to intimacy. She is very traditional and a little submissive. I never know when she is in the mood. I try to test, but I get little response so I just end up falling asleep. The next day she ask me if I like her. Does that mean she thinks I don't want her? I don't feel comfortable having to force her into an intimate relationship. It feels a little like rape. She doesn't give me much indication she's interested though. How can I tell? Is it just her character or culture? I'm used to women initiating just as much as men. Is she wanting me to make all the moves and take complete control? How do I know what she wants I guess is the big question?

her culture is pretty much to blame for her submissive habits. usually when Japanese woman are allowing you to caress and kiss them its okay to keep going, but until she grabs your hands and tells you to stop, your home free so to speak. Technically your not forcing her, your simply responding to what she wants. try communicating with her, tell her how this makes you feel, and encourage her to speak out a little more.

It sounds like these are the questions you should be asking her. The only way you will have a good relationship is if you have an open and honest one. Let her know how you feel, ask her these things, if she loves you she will understand that you just want to be a better person for her and have a better relationship with her.
